Ears - The Final Appointment

Thomas and I made this video 11 months ago. Yesterday, we went to see our ENT for is most likely our final time. Thomas' ears are still working properly and his hearing is all in normal range. He is confident that the inconsistencies in his speech will level out over time and that his hearing will continue to improve as he grows.

We are very blessed and excited!! For we know the other doctors and specialists in Thomas' life will never have the opportunity to release us from their care, but in respect to his ears, our dreams have come true. God has shed his light on us and touched Thomas' hears with his healing hands.

As his mama, I am overjoyed and cautiously optimistic. It is difficult for me to accept that I will no longer worry about his ears. It has been a constant for so long. I don't know his life without thinking about his ears and where his hearing is. I mean, let's get real for a minute, is that even possible as a mom? Especially, when I will never forget the day it became real that my newborn baby could not hear and I physically collapsed to my knees. Such is life as a mom.

Thank you for your continued love and support for Thomas and our family. His is stable and doing well and thriving at his new school. Making lots of friends and winning over his teachers. He's a hot mess most days, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
